Thoughtful Monday

I had this urge to just throw my umbrella away and walk in the rain. All the way back home. On second thought, I couldn't allow my bag to get wet. There was my iPhone inside. Important things that could not get wet.

As we grow older, we tend to have less fun. The moment we want to do something fun, we get weighed down by baggages like responsibility, being a role model and things like that.

I asked myself, "How long ago was it since I walked in the rain with rainwater drenching me? How long ago was it when I didn't have to care what people thought of me and just did what I wanted?" The answer to both questions is SUPER LONG TIME!!!

People who really know me, I think you guys got used to my craziness. However, it seems like not everyone can accept this part of me. I think especially when we start working and are being characterized as WORKING ADULTS, the whole image thing just changes. Before you know it, we are all acting in a certain way to show that we are responsible and mature but all the FUN seems to slip through our fingers. I miss the FUN.

My colleague was asking whether I've been to fort park (I think if I remember correctly). She said that the place was really beautiful. I told her ever since secondary school, I haven't been to these kind of places. It's sad, but true.

So, when people ask me what my 2011 resolution is, I tell them this:

I JUST WANNA HAVE FUN!

Easy it may seem but the easiest thing can be the most complicated and difficult thing to do.

What is your 2011 resolution?

Today, my colleague came out of ICU and is currently staying in one of the normal wards at SGH. I pray for her recovery and hope that God will protect her and help her through this difficult time. The doctor tells the nurses to tie her hands because she always tear the tubes out (this is what I heard).

The doctor can try to mend a broken body but only something spiritual and holy can mend the mind and soul. Hope that all will be well for her and her family.
