Hmm... finished a book yesterday... It is called Affair by Amanda Quick... This book stars Charlotte Arkendale and Baxter St. Ives... From the first look, Charlotte knew that Baxter St. Ives would be dangerous... Through those eys, she could see fire of an alchemist... but his behaviour was totally different from that pair of eyes... Charlotte and Baxter became involved in a series of murders that were caused by a 'MAGICIAN' who haunts both Charlotte and Baxter in their dreams... or are they NIGHTMARES... Both of them find themselves unable to get enough of each other so Baxter persuades and reasons with Charlotte to become his lover as well as engaged fiancee to use it as a smoke screen in order to move in the higher level circles where they think the 'magician' moves in... A strong romance brews as they each get to know each other better both physically as well as emotionally...
I like this book because i find that there are a few parts that are funny and also the story is very interesting... slowly the author brings me to another dimension and captivates me with her words... It's as though i am in the story looking at the both of them... like some passer-by... lol... so ya... not a bad book to read... the only thing is its thickness but if u like the book... you will have no problem finishing it up.. YUP!
oh ya... just remember... in the book they talked about destiny... so i went to find wat exactly does destiny mean... here it is...
- The inevitable or necessary fate to which a particular person or thing is destined; one's lot.
- A predetermined course of events considered as something beyond human power or control: “Marriage and hanging go by destiny” (Robert Burton).
- The power or agency thought to predetermine events: Destiny brought them together.
